If you want a course measuring first check
1) Have you got police permission ?
2) Can you provide me with a map and/or GPS track of the course.
3) Assuming you have done preliminary measurements(Mapmyrun amongst others is good for this), do you have a idea of where the route could be altered if it is found to be long/short.
